iSkills for Undergraduate Sciences
We still have a few places left in our upcoming iskills sessions. We have sessions on finding scientific sources, using databases and 3D Printing. You can book onto as many of these free sessions as you would like.
Explore Virtual Reality and 3D Printing
Learn how the 3D printing service in the RSL works and how to create 3D objects. The session will include demonstrations of the library owned VR headsets and there will be the opportunity to try a headset for yourself.

Get up to speed with finding papers for your studies (MPLS)
Get your search skills up to speed by learning effective searching strategies for scientific journals and papers. We'll go beyond searching with Google and show you how to use SOLO and scientific databases.

Sherardian Library
The Sherardian Library of Plant Taxonomy will be moving with the Department of Biology into the new Life & Mind Building in late 2024. Ahead of the move, work will be taking place to prepare the collections, with some periodicals and books transferring offsite to the Bodleian Storage Facility. Material held offsite will be available to request to Bodleian Libraries’ reading rooms (such as the Radcliffe Science Library) for consultation. Apologies for any disruption this work may cause. New Journal: Science Robotics
We have now arranged access to the journal Science Robotics. This journal will be of interest to anyone researching robotics, potential use for robotics in medicine or anyone who uses robotics in their research projects. This journal is available through SOLO. To access them off campus use the VPN or sign in to the journal platform with your Single Sign On (SSO).
Open Access
New Open Access Workshops
A new series of open access workshops will begin in Hilary term. These will include introductory sessions for those new to the subject as well as more advanced sessions on the practicalities of publishing your research open access. All workshops are free to attend and places can be booked online. More information about the open access workshops and links to online booking.
OxFos – Oxford Festival of Open Scholarship 2023
Between the 6th and 17th of March 2023, there will be a series of talks, workshops and other events based around how open access and open scholarship is being used around the University and in the wider world. See details of the 2022 OxFos and stay updated on planned events.

Jisc & UK institutions are in negotiation with Springer Nature for a sustainable read & publish agreement for the Springer, Nature, Nature Research & Palgrave journals. Join us for an online meeting, on Tuesday 21st February from 14.00-15.00, to discuss the future of this important deal. Book you place at the Springer Nature meeting (SSO required).
