MPLS Division - Finance Committee (deadline 12 November 2020)
The Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division is seeking to appoint a new academic member to its Finance Committee, a long standing sub-committee of the Division’s General Purposes Committee responsible for the oversight of the division’s finances.
This oversight function includes the identification of opportunities to enhance the division’s financial position, scrutiny of departmental budgets and other financial plans, advising on good financial practice and promoting work on cost saving measures and value for money initiatives.
The Committee is chaired by the division’s Associate Head for Finance and includes five further members, being two members of academic staff and two senior administrators from within the division and the Divisional Financial controller.
We would welcome applications from any members of academic staff who may be interested in gaining experience in divisional financial administration and in helping the division achieve optimal financial outcomes. Given the current balance of the membership of the committee, we would particularly encourage interest from members of experimental departments but all expressions of interest will be very welcome.
The term of appointment will be three years, to commence from the start of HT 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter.
