How does enterprise fit into my career development as a researcher and into the Vitae RDF?

Enterprise and the rdf

Vitae (working in association with RCUK) have developed the Researcher Development Framework (RDF), setting out the knowledge, behaviours and attributes of effective and highly skilled researchers appropriate for a wide range of careers.

It is structured in four domains encompassing the knowledge, intellectual abilities, techniques and professional standards to do research, as well as the personal qualities, knowledge and skills to work with others and ensure the wider impact of research. It also presents a series of lenses through which to look at your professional development to strengthen your profile and your CV.

With the growing pressures of a complex and uncertain world, enterprising researchers are vital to maximise the benefits gained from excellent research. The Enterprise Lens focuses on the knowledge, behaviour and attitudes that can be developed, acquired through, or used in, entrepreneurial activities.

The three pillars of Enterprise are Passion, Enthusiasm and Confidence, all to be widely found in the research community, so you have a great start!
