International Women's Day - 'Sip & Share @ the Pub' event
This year some of Oxford's key female-run businesses and networks are coming together for a joint event in celebration of International Women's Day. Join us on Wednesday March 7th for an open-to-all ‘sip and share’ evening at The Oxford Retreat. A networking event with a difference, this will be a great opportunity to meet some of the city’s women in business and hear their learning and top tips for success.

SANTANDER UNIVERSITIES ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARDS 2018
Since 2011, Santander has held an annual business pitching competition called the Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards. These awards are aimed at giving a financial boost to student and graduate business ventures in their early stages from our UK partner universities. It has grown to be one of the UK’s largest student and graduate business pitching competitions. They reward entrepreneurs by offering cash prizes, mentoring and start-up support and have so far given away more than £340,000 to start-ups and small businesses.
We can submit one entry for each of the following categories:
- 1 x Technology business - This is defined as a business or idea with hardware and/or software central to the businesses value proposition
- 1 x Non-technology business - This is defined as a business or idea that has a value proposition that is not primarily based around hardware and/or software

ACTINSPACE 2018: A global hackathon focusing on space technology
Date: 25th & 26th May at Harwell, with the winning team participating in the final scheduled for 27th June 2018 in Toulouse.
ActInSpace® is an international innovation contest initiated by the French Space Agency (CNES) uniting over 60 cities across 5 continents. ActInSpace® is supported by ESA and the ESA Business Incubation Centre Network. Teams work on challenges set by the organisers to solve every day problems.
The overall objective of this event is to promote the use of space technologies for the benefit of society.
the VIEW programme
VIEW (Venture Idea Exploration Workshop) is a free startup programme comprising two courses designed for teams of University of Oxford students, MBAs, graduates, alumni and staff **
Working in teams, participants will practice important entrepreneurial skills such as pitching and presentations, market research, dealing with (and giving) feedback, and business modelling. They will also become familiar with the leading entrepreneurial theories, research, concepts and frameworks, and apply them to their venture idea in real time. Each course comprises of six-weekly evening sessions as well as support from a dedicated mentor throughout. It is compulsory for at least one team member to attend each session.
The programme concludes with real pitches to academic and industry start-up experts.
