Seti

Bill Diamond, President and CEO of the SETI Institute (searching for extra-terrestrial intelligence) visited Oxford at the beginning of June to discuss collaboration in astrophysics and artificial intelligence.

The SETI Institute hosts the NASA Frontier Development Lab each summer whilst Oxford hosts the parallel European Space Agency programme. Mr Diamond presented the work of the Institute to Oxford researchers and in a public lecture, hosted by Professor Ian Shipsey, Head of Physics and Dr Simon Jackman, the University’s Senior Innovation Fellow working with the space sector.

Several collaborative opportunities in AI for space are now under development.

Please contact Simon Jackman of the Industrial Research Partnerships team for further information.
