9th Oxford Energy Day: Sustainable Local Energy Systems
Tuesday, 29 September 2020, 10am to 3.30pm
Free online conference on the local dimensions of energy systems.
The local dimensions of energy systems are becoming more important for researchers, industry and policymakers. Generation technologies are increasingly modular and decentralised, and saving energy has always only been deliverable locally. As the share of variable renewable electricity generation rises, the opportunities for distributed storage and demand side response also rise. As the energy transition proceeds, energy systems will have greater local content and their operators will look to local stakeholders to participate. Our speakers will address the fundamental question for sustainable local energy systems: ‘What do we need to do?’ drawing on lessons from around the world, including the increasing experience in the Oxford area.
The event is free and will be online using Zoom. A link will be sent to the email you provide prior to the event.
