Royal Society's medals and awards, deadline 23 February
The Royal Society invites nominations are now open. These awards celebrate a range of achievements in science including communicating science. Nominations can be for individuals, groups and teams. You do not need to be a fellow or member of the Royal Society to be nominated or to nominate.

Royal Microscopical Society Early career award, deadline 16 Feb
This award recognises the achievements of an outstanding early career imaging scientist in their contribution to microscopy, image analysis, or cytometry - including for public engagement activities.
Royal Society David Attenborough Award and Lecture, deadline 23 February
The Royal Society invites nominations for the David Attenborough award and lecture. This recognises an individual for public engagement with science and comes with a media and a cash prize.
Institute of Physics Awards, deadline for nominations 15 Jan 2024
Nominations are now open for the 2024 Institute of Physics Awards - including three for outstanding public engagement.
European Society for Paediatric Infectious Disease Distinguished Award for Communication
The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases is welcoming nominations for this award, which recognises individuals who have demonstrated exceptional excellence in public communication of science related to paediatric infectious diseases.
Take your research to STEM for Britain at the UK Parliament, deadline 27 November
STEM for BRITAIN is a poster competition for early-stage researchers which is held in the Houses of Parliament. Applications are invited in five subject categories: Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Physics, Engineering, Mathematical Sciences and Chemistry. Cash prizes are awarded.
European Research Council Public Engagement with Research award, deadline 21 Feb 2024
The European Research Council invites applications for its public engagement with research award, worth €10,000, which recognises former ERC grantees who have communicated their research to audiences outside of their domains, and demonstrated excellence in public engagement and outreach.

Dr Sam Henry (Dept of Physics) has won the MPLS Impact Award in the Public Engagement with Research Category. You can find out more about some of his public engagement work in this video.
Dr Holly Reeve appointed MPLS BSA Media Fellow
Dr Holly Reeve, Project Manager and Co-Investigator of the HydRegen project (Department of Chemistry), has been awarded the MPLS British Science Association Media Fellowship and will be working at the Mirror this July.
MPLS Impact Awards Announced
