EGU public engagement grants, deadline 16 June
The Europen Geosciences Union offers up to €1,500 to recognise science communication in the Earth, planetary and space sciences and support the development of outreach projects that raise awareness of geoscience outside the scientific community.
The European Geosciences Union (EGU) launched an annual grant scheme in November 2015 to celebrate and recognise excellent science communication in the Earth, planetary and space sciences.
The EGU Public Engagement Grants are awarded to EGU members interested in developing an outreach project that aims to raise awareness of geosciences outside the scientific community.
Since 2020, the three applicants who are judged to have proposed the most innovative and effective project are each awarded a grant of €1500 to help further develop the idea and put it into practice. Grant winners will receive one free registration to attend the EGU General Assembly the year following the receipt of their grant, to present on their projects.
There are no restrictions on the format of the applicant’s project or proposed activity. If you have an idea for a comic, podcast, documentary, set of experiments, or some other form of effective science communication that you want to promote, you are welcome to apply.
The grants are for a period of 12 months and are awarded in full in September each year.
Deadline for applications is 16 June 2023.
