This latest round of funding opens 5 November 2020.
This funding scheme supports Wellcome grant holders and awardees (across all disciplines, regardless of which division you are in) to develop and deliver high quality public engagement with research, and offers pre-application support alongside project delivery support and mentoring, including for evaluation. The scheme is open to all levels of experience - whether you're new to PER or have tons of experience.
The application process is relatively light-touch, all they ask for is good ideas and good planning.
Funding levels:
Small Awards: £10k - £40k; < 2 years.
Large Awards: £50k - £100k; < 3 years.
Key dates:
20 & 23 October 2020: Taster sessions (30 mins) to find out about the scheme
5 November 2020: Call for applications (Round 3)
24 November 2020: Researchers - Community Organisations (60 minutes) Networking event: further details on the event and how to register provided below.
November – December 2020: Pre-application workshops (dates tbc)
21 January 2020: Closing date for applications
Researchers - Community Organisations Networking Event
Researchers: are you interested in meeting community organisations as potential partners for your Enriching Engagement proposal/project to engage the public with your Wellcome-funded research?
n.b. You do not need to have a proposal idea in mind; this event is to meet and find out about the work of community organisations in the region and further afield; and likewise for those organisations to find out more about your research.
To register for the event, email publicengagement@admin.ox.ac.uk, including your full email signature, and responding to the following two prompts, by the 30 October 2020:
a) My research is about…. (1 to 2 sentences)
b) The topic I would like to discuss at the event is: (3 to 5 bullet points).
