MPLS and MSD are collaborating on a new science engagement programme to support researchers and our local communities.

Audience activity with beach balls at 'Accelerate'

And we’re off! Day 1 of scoping a new science engagement programme, a joint-venture between MPLS and MSD. We’re re-thinking how to use our resources to support local engagement, and our intention is to deliver a programme that brings benefits for both our researchers and our local communities.
Development of the programme will be an open and collaborative process, so the first item on the ‘to do’ list is talk to people so that we can capture all the excellent work that is already taking place and consider what new approaches we could take in the future. This will be an ongoing task so that we develop a programme that works for all stakeholders, and ensures that everyone has an opportunity to help shape the programme as the word spreads. If you want to be involved or have some suggestions please drop us a line. In the meantime, please watch this space for further updates!

A bit about me: I'm Oli Moore, the new Science Engagement Facilitator (prior to this role I was the Outreach Programmes Manager in the Dept. of Physics). My new role forms part of a collaboration between MPLS and MSD to scope and deliver a new science engagement programme to support researchers and our local communities.
