The National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement's 9 month professional development programme, the Engage Academy, is designed for those working to support and change the culture around public engagement. This programme will be delivered online.

This in-depth professional development programme takes place over 9 months, and aims to help those supporting researchers to engage to:

  • Interrogate the high quality public engagement principles including Purpose/Process/People/Evaluation
  • Develop a strategic approach to embedding engagement at their organisation
  • Explore their role as a ‘change maker’
  • Develop a strong and supportive network

The programme stems from NCCPE's more than decade long experience supporting and researching culture-change initiatives, and includes contributions from a range of sector-specialists.

Whether you're new to a PE-support role or want some time to hone your skills and reflect on your context this is a worthwhile course (I can vouch for this, having attended some years ago).

Through a mixture of talks and interactive sessions and networking, you will enrich your understanding of the wider engagement landscape, enhance your knowledge, skills and confidence, develop a working plan to tackle key challenges in your context, and network with peers from across the country.

The programme is being delivered online this year, and requires around 6 days of commitment across the 9 months.

Cost of the programme is £600 (bursaries are available).

Deadline for applications is 5pm Monday 28 June.
