This event, hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry, will explore how policy is created and influenced with a view to helping inspire chemists to grow their confidence to pursue policy opportunities. The event will also explore how public engagement can help inform conversations with policy makers.

During this online session, we will be exploring how policy is created and influenced and the importance and value of chemists having their voices heard throughout this process. As the next instalment in the 'Diverse Engagement for Diverse Publics' series, the power of using engagement with the public to inform conversations with policymakers will also be explored.

Representatives from parliament and campaigners will help to explore the importance of scientists engaging with the public and policymakers through sharing their experiences and anecdotes. Tips and tricks for successful engagement will be communicated, to help increase your confidence to pursue such opportunities. There will be opportunity to ask your own questions.

This event will take 19 October, 12-1.30pm, online and is hosted by the Royal Society of Chemistry.
