Up to £8,000 is available to support leaders to develop their potential policy engagement and support the development of OPEN.

The OPEN Leaders Scheme offers awards of up to £8,000 for recipients to develop their potential in policy engagement by taking a leading role in the development of OPEN and helping to drive an inclusive, supportive culture of policy engagement among staff and students at the University of Oxford.

Researchers and professional services staff at Oxford in any discipline can apply and proposals from those new to, or experienced in, policy engagement are equally welcome.

The scheme supports activities that enable one or more departments or faculties to:

  • improve access for the policymaking community to the best available research evidence and expertise;
  • deepen understanding of how researchers can contribute to policymaking, and develop skills to do this effectively;
  • or broaden and deepen relevant networks, creating and developing more opportunities for engagement.

Not sure if the OPEN Leaders Scheme is for you? Come along to a Q&A session with current award holders to find out more about their projects and how you can use the award to address challenges or barriers against policy making in your department:

Dr Alex Teytelboym (Economics)

14:00-14:45, Thursday 16 February

Dr Jessica Walsh (Wellcome Centre for Interactive Neuroimaging)

11:00-12:45, Friday 17 February

Email The OPEN team to register your interest, noting which session you would like to attend, to receive a Teams link for the session. Both sessions are open to researchers from all disciplines.
