Public Engagement with Research (PER) activities can be included and resourced as part of Research Council and many other funders\u2019 grant applications, and is a great way to ensure the quality and impact of your research. \r\nThis guide provides step by step guidance on how to identify relevant PER activities, and to incorporate plans for these into your research grant proposals.\r\n\r\nWork through each section below, or jump to sections that you're most interested in.\r\n\r\nWe have included fictional examples to help you think about how the questions and guidance apply in practice, but you should not copy these. \n \n\n \n \nScience Together 2022\u20132023 saw collaborations with 7 community partners from across Oxfordshire, researchers and public engagement facilitators from University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University working on a diverse range of projects from testing integrated learning for children with complex needs, transforming a garden to explore nature's impact on wellbeing, evaluating key life skills with music involvement, understanding sickle cell anaemia treatments, evaluating the impact of food parcels using data, combatting loneliness in the older generation, and providing STEM education to children from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.
\n \n\n \n \nBetween 2021 and 2024, Science Together fostered collaborations led by 22 community partners from across Oxfordshire. Over 50 researchers and 30 public engagement facilitators from the University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University were involved,and many relationships initiated by Science Together have continued beyond the programme timescales.
