Royal Society of Chemistry Outreach Grants, deadlines 4 July and 4 September 2022
Royal Society of Chemistry offers up to £10,000 to enable members, individuals and organisations to run chemistry-based public and schools engagement activities. The scheme has a monthly deadline. Presently they are particularly interested in projects themed on 'sustainability'.
The Royal Society of Chemistry invites applications for its outreach fund.
These enable members, individuals and organisations to run chemistry-based public and schools engagement activities.
Through the fund they aim to support projects that:
- Develop science communication skills of chemists - building capacity and opportunities for chemists and chemical scientists to engage with schools and/or public audiences
- Engage with school students - inspiring and raising aspirations of student audiences to nurture a future generation passionate about the chemical sciences
- Engage with public audiences - involving a wide range of people in relevant contemporary issues in the chemical sciences
- Provide under-represented audiences, communities and places with inspiring chemistry engagement opportunities, delivered or coordinated by skilled people
They are especially interested to receive applications for projects themed around sustainability.
Applicants may include society members, member-led groups, researchers in academia or industry, museums, community groups, non-profit organisations, arts groups and libraries. They should seek to engage with members and member groups. All activity must take place within the UK or Republic of Ireland.
The grants are split into two tiers:
- Small grants: up to £5,000
- Large grants: between £5,001 and £10,000
Deadlines are monthly for both - the next few deadlines are:
- 5 September
- 7 November
