The Science Media Centre (SMC) is an independent press office for science, which works on some of the most controversial topics around.
If you're keen to gain some experience in science communication and science journalism this would be a good opportunity.
SMC are a small team of eight permanent staff, and their interns provide invaluable support and get to see everything that they work on and do. The internship mainly involves research and administrative tasks, and is most suitable for final-year undergrads, postgrad students, people who have recently completed an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, or those looking for an early-stage career change.
They have interns with them all year, with each working with them for five weeks. Their interns work full-time 35-hour weeks, based in their London office, and they pay the London Living Wage (currently £11.95/hour).
This is a competitive application process and the deadline for the first stage of the process is 15:00 on Wednesday 1st March 2023. They'll aim to contact shortlisted candidates within a week to invite them for an interview. This will take place online, most likely during the week commencing Monday 6th March 2023.
