PLEASE NOTE: due to safeguarding policies not all departments are able to host students or offer placements through alternative programmes, so it is extremely important that you discuss your desire to host a student with your schools/outreach staff before you apply to this programme.

In2scienceUK creates opportunities for year 12 students from low-income backgrounds to progress to science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) degrees and careers, so they can achieve their potential to become the next generation of innovators and pioneers.

The highlight for students, is a 1-2 week placement, working alongside researchers during the summer, giving students unique insight into STEM research.

By taking part you are also giving students access to a range of skills and careers workshops as well as university admissions support delivered by In2scienceUK and their partners throughout the summer and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity to support your public engagement efforts during your normal working day, reignite your passion for your field by sharing your work with an excited young person, and provide opportunities for under-represented students from the local community. But don’t just take our word for it, you can hear from past In2scienceUK hosts.

PLEASE NOTE: due to safeguarding policies not all departments are able to host students or offer placements through alternative programmes, so it is extremely important that you discuss your desire to host a student with your schools/outreach staff before you apply to this programme.

The first step involves filling out a form that will help in2scienceUK learn more about your research and match you with students who will benefit most from a placement with you. You can choose the weeks you would like to host between the 27th July and the 28th August, and placements can be hosted as an individual or as a lab. Deadline for applicants is May 4th 2020.

If you are interested in the programme and would like any further information, please get in contact with stephen@in2scienceUK.org or you can download the host booklet.
