Submissions are now open to be a part of Cheltenham Science Festival 2018 which takes place from the 5th to the 10th of June.
For those that don’t know it, the Cheltenham Science Festival Festival is a 6-day celebration of science, with a busy programme of discussions, schools shows, hands-on workshops, performances and interactive exhibitions. In 2017, they ran a programme of over 150 public events, 50 school events and a range of hands-on drop in spaces. Over 40,000 tickets were issued, and they saw over 25,000 visits to free drop in spaces, and had over 7,000 visits to free activities in the town centre.
They are looking for fresh ideas to create a varied and engaging programme covering a wide range of topics and themes. They are keen to trial new formats and inventive ways of exploring science, and to attract audiences who would not normally consider attending a Science Festival.
They are accepting submissions from individuals, groups and organisations to take part in events, one of our interactive hands-on spaces, or an activity in the town centre.
You can find more information about the Festival, areas of the programme and how to apply here: http://www.cheltenhamfestivals.com/science/be-part-of-cheltenham-science-festival-2018-/
Deadlines for submissions are:
Schools programme - Midday Monday 9th October
Main programme events (including Adult and Family events) - Midday Monday 6th November
If anyone is interested in doing a joint activity with other departments then get in touch.
