Vice Chancellor's Public Engagement with Research Award winners 2019 announced
In a glitzy awards ceremony in a packed lecture theatre in Keble College, the winners of the VC PER Awards were announced - featuring two awards for MPLS researchers - and three more highly commended awards.

Evaluation guidance: planning template and tools (requires SSO)
The Public Engagement with Research team in Research services have shared an evaluation planning template and a list of evaluation tools you can use. These were first used as part of the PER Forum intro to evaluation.

Public Engagement and Outreach Training from the Royal Society
The Royal Society are offering two sessions for researchers: 'an introduction to public engagement' (12 March, 10am to 3pm), and 'Engaging with schools' (21 March, 10am to 5pm) in London.
REF2021 Final Guidance on Submissions Published
Research England today (Thurs Jan 31) released the final guidance on REF2021 submissions. I took a look at whether there have been any changes to the draft guidelines in relation to public engagement. Spoiler: public engagement with research remains a valid route to achieving impact.
The MLPS Division’s Strategic Plan for Public Engagement with Research
Over the last few years, the Division has been working towards better understanding its role in nurturing a supportive culture where high quality public engagement with research (PER) can flourish as an integral part of research culture and practice.
