The training for doctoral students and researchers offered by the MPLS division is complemented by training offered by the Careers Services, Research Services, IT Services, Bodleian Libraries, and Oxford Learning Institute. The other academic divisions also offer researcher training.

Training and support from university services

Research Services: Advice on finding and applying for funding, costing and pricing grant applications, managing awards, knowledge exchange, and research integrity.

The Careers Service provides one-to-one advice from staff dedicated to providing careers support to Oxford researchers. They also provide workshops, events and online guidance on research careers outside academia, and career paths taken by other researchers in your field. IT Services' IT Learning Programme: classroom based IT and information skills courses, from Access to XSLT.

The Oxford Learning Institute:  courses for university and college staff covering teaching and learning, leadership and management, and personal development.

Bodleian Libraries: workshops, guides and tutorials to develop your skills in information discovery and scholarly communications.

Research Skills Toolkit: explores IT and library tools, tips and techniques to support researchers in their work.

Research Staff Society: OxRSS is a collective voice for researchers employed by the University of Oxford. It also organises social and professional networking activities across departments and divisions.
