The Oxford Photonics Day will take place in the Department of Engineering Science, Parks Road. This year the speakers will include:

  • Prof. Thomas Krauss, Department of Physics, University of York ‘Nanophotonic biosensors-clever photonics in a small package’
  • Prof. Robert Taylor, Department of Physics, University of Oxford ‘Photonic molecules in InGaAs QD structures’
  • Prof. Madhavi Krishnan, Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford ‘Photonics in the fluid phase’
  • Prof. Felix Hofmann, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford ‘Exploring crystal defects in 3D at the nanoscale: What we can learn from coherent X-ray diffraction’
  • Prof. Jin-Chong Tan, Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford ‘Engineering the optoelectronic properties of metal-organic framework (MOF) composites’
  • Prof. Lapo Bogani, Department of Materials, University of Oxford ‘TBC’
  • Prof. John Heffernan, Department of Physics, University of Sheffield ‘TBC’

Registration for the event, which is free to attend, is now open: https://forms.gle/ZBMMYnhB5RcNRMDq9

Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Research Associates will have the opportunity to submit abstracts for Poster presentations and, as in previous years, there will be prizes for the top three graduate posters as selected by a panel of independent judges.
