Stefano Germano (MPLS Enterprise & Innovation Fellow 2020-2021) is a Senior Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on how Artificial Intelligence and Semantic Technologies can improve knowledge management in non-conventional environments. He has been involved in various international research projects with academic partners as well as small and big companies, and he has worked as a consultant and scientific advisor for spin-off and small businesses in the information technology field.

Dr Heloise Greeff (MPLS Enterprise & Innovation Fellow 2019-20) is a Junior Research Fellow in Engineering at the CHI Lab at the University of Oxford, and member of Linacre College. Her work focuses on creating novel machine learning algorithms for remote health monitoring systems in limited-resource settings. Her previous research resulted in the patented system for handpump monitoring in rural Kenya and Bangladesh. She is now leading CHI Lab’s Wellcome Trust-funded initiative on critical care innovations for LMICs. Heloïse has an entrepreneurial focus on needs-led data-driven technologies and the importance of interdisciplinary collaborations to deliver impactful solutions. She was named as one of South Africa’s Fifty Inspiring Women in tech, and was joint winner of the Oxford Vice-Chancellor’s Innovation award.

Dr Ti Xu (MPLS Enterprise & Innovation Fellow 2019-21) is the Co-founder of StudyStream, a 24/7 study platform and social media company for students worldwide to study and connect. Ti has a Bachelors in Physics from New York University, and a DPhil in Physics from the University of Oxford, where he studied from 2013-17. After his time as an MPLS Enterprise Fellow, Ti founded StudyStream with co-founders Erfan Soliman and Sarujan Ranjan and took it through the prestigious Y-Combinator startup accelerator programme. To date, the StudyStream platform has helped more than 4 million students in 180 countries to be more productive, connected and motivated.

Dr Yige Sun is a Faraday Institution Research Fellow in the Nextrode project with Prof. Patrick Grant, based in the Department of Materials at the University of Oxford, and a Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences (MPLS) Divisional Enterprise and Innovation Fellow. She also serves as a project leader in the Oxford Robotic and Additive Manufacturing Society (OxRAM), and a career mentor under People and Organisational Development unit (POD), University of Oxford. Her academic research involves microstructural manipulation and analysis of lithium-ion battery electrode microstructure, working with multiple university and business partners.

Dr Martine Abboud (MPLS Enterprise & Innovation Fellow 2019-20) is the founder of CREO Incubator, a learning platform that garners the power of microlearning and gamification to deliver unique experiences in skills and entrepreneurship through 15-min daily learnings and tailored live experiences. Martine has a DPhil in Chemical Biology from the University of Oxford and an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology. She is a passionate scientist, tech founder, and educator. Previously, Martine worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the University of Oxford. She has been recognised as a CAS Future Leader, and was named as one of Forbes 30 Under 30 - Europe.
