BIPOC STEM Network Aims, Activities and Projects
We aim to host a number of activities each term including:
- Speaker events that enhance the representation of BIPOC researchers in STEM
- Inclusive social events that provide a space to share experiences and chat with peers
- Workshops and training covering allyship, anti-racism, and how to be an effective bystander
- Networking and career development opportunities
We have also started a number of longer term projects including:
- A book club for allies. To sign up click here. The book club's terms of reference are available through this link or by emailing emily.hotine@nds.ox.ac.uk.
- A mentoring programme for BIPOC graduate students in the University’s STEM departments (information coming soon)
- Outreach links to bring greater representation in science to primary and secondary schools. If you are interested in outreach work that enhances representation of POC in science, sign up to take part here: https://forms.office.com/r/Q5LYh28jyy
