Diversifying STEM Curriculum in MPLS
In MPLS, we strive to understand and demystify what it means to ‘decolonise’ or ‘diversify’ STEM subjects, and bring these conversations and supporting actions into our departments. We are working with our departments and colleagues across the University and wider to recognise and acknowledge the impact and legacies of colonialism and the Western view on our scientific communities. A key part of this work is diversifying the STEM curriculum, which will vary depending on the discipline. The University’s Oxford and Colonialism website brings together a wide range of initiatives across the collegiate University that engage with its colonial past and its ongoing manifestations.
On this page you will find a link to our full Diversifying STEM Curriculum statement, background to our project, and the full research reports and findings of our inaugural 2021 programme and 2022 programme.
