First Principles for Scientists: Enterprise & Innovation
A foundation programme for STEM researchers who are seeking, or have identified, solutions to problems and are curious about taking the next steps to translate these into real-world solutions through commercial development.

Learn how to validate your solution based on the core concepts of: desirability, feasibility & viability.
Allowing you to explore your research through these lenses and spot ideas that could lay the foundations for impactful deliverables.
The course also covers entrepreneurial competencies, especially self-awareness, along with the tips on communicating your ideas so that your audience understands the value it creates for them.
This is a foundation programme for STEM researchers to enable you to build these 1st principles into every project, get results, and build stronger collaborations.
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
- Implement the core concepts of idea validation: desirability, feasibility and viability.
- Spot opportunities by interrogating your research using these core concepts.
- Improve communication with audiences and potential collaborators.
- Leverage self-awareness for stronger partnerships and greater impact.
