The University intends to re-establish this subcommittee of Education Committee, following Congregation’s resolutions about the Language Centre in the summer.

Under its previous terms of reference (prior to its abolition in 2015), the CLC was responsible for determining the Language Centre policy, exercising general supervision over its work, and appointing the Director and Assistant Director of the Centre. The reformed Committee will contribute to a review of the Language Centre scheduled for HT 2020.

The MPLS Board has been asked to nominate one representative. The role may be particularly relevant to anyone with an interest in promoting the importance of academic English for international students and/or an understanding of the value that all students place on language learning.

Anyone interested in this vacancy should send a CV and brief EOI (explaining why you are interested in the role and what you would bring to it) to Dr Tracy Gale (MPLS Divisional Registrar) by noon on Monday 14 October 2019.
