Kellogg College is the University's most cosmopolitan graduate college and boasts a distinctive student mix. It's the University's leading college for part-time degree students, and also has a lively and thriving community of full-time students.

Here's a chance to join the Kellogg College community as a Research Member of Common Room. This position is open to postdoctoral researchers (and those with more senior standing) who work for the University but lack a college connection. A number of Research Members of Common Room have later become Junior Research Fellows at Kellogg College.

We're looking for applicants who plan to contribute actively to Kellogg College's academic and social life and growth. Research Members of Common Room will need to serve as College Advisers to help and mentor Kellogg College students through their studies. We'll provide training for this position and everyone must attend.

"College has a welcoming atmosphere and being an adviser can be both enjoyable and fulfilling"

Research Membership of Common Room gives you access to College facilities, lets you enjoy subsidised College lunches and dinners, and allows you to take part in our varied and expanding range of college seminars and social events.

You can find full information about Kellogg College fellowships and Research Centres on the college website under the Our People and Centres sections.

You'll need to apply with your CV, plus a cover letter explaining why you'd like to be considered for Research Membership of Common Room at Kellogg College and how you'd contribute to the Kellogg community. You need to be working in a research role within the collegiate University currently and should ask a senior colleague to write a brief reference. Membership can be renewed each year, as long as you hold a (paid) research position in the University.

Applications for 2024-25 must be submitted by noon on Friday in 9th Week of Trinity Term (27 June 2025). Send your application by email to the Academic Office before the deadline. We can't consider applications that are late or incomplete.

Your referee should email their reference to the Academic Office by the same deadline – noon on Friday of week 9 in Trinity Term (27 June 2025).

The college will hold a briefing session about the College Advisor role for successful applicants at the start of Michaelmas Term 2025.
