In2Science are looking for placement hosts for their impactful programme that works with disadvantaged 16-19 year old school students.

The In2STEM programme is aimed at disadvantaged school students aged 16 to 19 in their first year of A-levels, BTEC or equivalent. They provide students with a 5 week programme during summer. This consists of useful skills, careers and employability workshops and public engagement competitions.

The highlight of the summer is a one or two week work experience placement in a STEM organisation or facility.

They are currently looking for new STEM professionals and PhD students within STEM who are interested in hosting a small group of students for one or two weeks between 23rd July-24th August 2024. They can be flexible with these times. You do not need prior experience in hosting or mentoring students. In2scienceUK supports volunteers each step of the way, providing training and guidance, making volunteering easy and safe.

This would be a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a programme with evidence backed impact on diversity in STEM for undergraduate admissions. To find out more about the impact of their programme, you can read their 2023 Impact Report.

You MUST speak to your departmental schools liaison/outreach officer/contact before submitting an application.

If you're not sure who that is, please get in touch.

The deadline for applications is 3 March 2024

Please contact if you need more time to complete an application.
