The annual Oxford Brookes Science Bazaar will be back on Saturday 1st March 2025 and they are seeking individuals to take part in this exciting event.
No previous experience of public engagement with research is required; just an enthusiasm to share your passion and knowledge with visitors.
Launched in 2008, Oxford Brookes Science Bazaar has grown to be a flagship annual event for the local community and beyond. The Science Bazaar encourages exploration of ‘science’ in the widest possible terms, engaging, for free, with over 7,000 visitors, of all ages and backgrounds.
The Science Bazaar is passionate about improving access inclusion and hosts a relaxed autism-friendly early opening for those who prefer a quieter event experience.
The principal aim of the Science Bazaar is to inform and inspire visitors by showcasing the excellent research of Brookes staff, students, and partners, across the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, art, maths, and social sciences (STEAMS). This is achieved by curating a range of innovative and exciting high-quality content, which sparks the imagination and fuels a thirst for learning.
Volunteers can be from any discipline of science, technology, engineering, art, maths, and social sciences (STEAMS) and at any career stage from undergraduate study onwards, and to be an activity leader all you need is a desire to engage and a keen interest in the Science Bazaar.
It’s free to take part in the Science Bazaar, and training as well as support is provided to help with activity development.
