This workshop offers DPhil students a space to reflect, share challenges, and explore emotional wellbeing during their doctoral journey. Through guided discussion and facilitator input, participants gain insight into common issues and learn strategies to manage stress, work-life balance, and transitions throughout their DPhil.

COURSE DETAILS

The workshop aims to provide a space for DPhil students who would like to find out about others’ experiences of doing a DPhil and to share their own. There will also be some input from the facilitator on common emotional issues and problems in doing a DPhil and ways of reflecting on and thinking about them.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Reflect on the components of a healthy work-life balance.
  • Recognise common emotional challenges at various stages of the DPhil and explore practical approaches to address them.
  • Locate and access support services related to welfare, emotional well-being, and mental health within the University of Oxford.
