Devika Thapar is Partner at Wilbe, a London based venture firm that helps science founders commercialise research and build companies at scale to solve some of the world’s biggest problems in health, climate and security. Devika spoke about commercialising research to a varied audience of women from STEM departments across the university.

Formerly head of new product development at IBM Watson in New York, Devika spent five years commercialising artificial intelligence solutions for large enterprises across USA and Europe. She began her career as a strategy management consultant with Accenture India. She is an angel investor in early stage AI companies.

Devika serves on the Board of Collette, a world leading travel company. Professionally trained dancer, she is on the Board of STEM from Dance, an award winning charity aimed at empowering minority girls to pursue science related studies through dance. Devika completed her MBA from Yale University and a BA in economics from St. Stephens College India.
