Research Staff
The MPLS division co-ordinates courses for researchers on teaching, scientific writing, making presentations, engaging the public with your research, research integrity, and personal development, as well as a programme of events and courses on entrepreneurship, innovation and intellectual property.
These courses are designed to support your career and professional development, and you are entitled to a minimum of 10 days per annum for this. In addition to the courses we provide, there are also many opportunities available from other training providers in the University.
The Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers
The Concordat is an agreement between the major funders and employers of researchers in the UK. It sets out the expectations and responsibilities of researchers, their managers, employers and funders. You can find further information about it on the Vitae website. In the light of this Concordat, the University developed the University’s Code of Practice for the employment and career development of research staff.
