Public Engagement - awards

The final saw eight competitors vying for the Three Minute Thesis prize.

This morning saw the final of this year's Three Minute Thesis competition. A tough challenge, the 3MT asks students to clearly and concisely convey their research in just 180 seconds. 

The judges were impressed by the research, enthusiasm and clarity of the presentations, and had the difficult task of deciding the winners. 

We are delighted to announce that the 2024 Oxford 3MT Winners are:

  • 1st place prize: Dylan Sherman, Department of Engineering Science, Nano-sponges that light up your world
  • 2nd place prize: Amirmohammad Farzaneh, Department of Engineering Science, How to pack your network
  • People's Choice Award: Dylan Sherman, Department of Engineering Science, Nano-sponges that light up your world
