The Biochemical Society supports public engagement and outreach activities that communicate the excitement of molecular bioscience to young people and the community.

The aim of the outreach grants is to increase participation in the molecular biosciences at school level and beyond through engaging activities.

Applications are invited for funding to assist with the direct costs associated with an activity and expenses incurred.

These can be either smaller projects of up to £1,000 or larger projects of up to £5,000.

Activities might include:

  • Re-using established activities/resources in a new context or with a new perspective
  • Developing resources for sustained use
  • Development of a new activity, resource or online content for participants
  • Sustained community-led activities or engagement based on your research interests that will continue to engage
  • Engaging talks from scientists working in different fields

You can find lots of helpful information on the Society's website, including previously funded projects and full funding guidance.

The deadline for applications is 9 October.
