Call for Volunteers: Pint of Science Oxford 2024
Pint of Science, the annual celebration of science taking place in pubs around the country, now in its eleventh year is on the search for keen volunteers to support events taking place in Oxford next year.
Pint of Science Oxford 2024, the 11th year of celebrating science with the local Oxford community, is calling for volunteers to join the initiative.
Pint of Science's mission is to bridge the gap between research and the public. Volunteers, primarily comprising graduate students and postdocs, play a pivotal role in achieving this objective. By volunteering, you will contribute to the organisation and management of events throughout May 2024, allowing over 200 Oxford researchers to connect with the public.
Volunteers should be available during the evenings of May 13th - 15th, 2024, to ensure the success of the events. Committed team members willing to engage in event planning, organisation, and hosting are welcomed.
Benefits of Volunteering:
- Gain valuable event planning and public engagement experience.
- Work closely with a team to curate speakers, organize, and host events.
- Access comprehensive guidance and support throughout the event organization process.
- Collaborate with experienced Pint of Science Event planners who will guide you in creating a successful event.
- Concentrate on engaging with your chosen speakers and the audience.
- Flexibility in the planning process, conducted through email and Slack.
