Public Engagement - funding
The Royal Society of Chemistry offers up to £10k through small and large grants to support members, individuals and organisations to run chemistry-based public and schools engagement activities. The scheme has rolling monthly deadlines throughout 2023.
The Royal Society of Chemistry outreach fund offers funds that enable members, individuals and organisations to run chemistry-based public and schools engagement activities.
The RSC supports 12 month projects that:
- Develop science communication skills of chemists - building capacity and opportunities for
chemists and chemical scientists to engage with schools and public audiences
- Engage with school students - inspiring and raising aspirations of student audiences to nurture
a future generation passionate about the chemical sciences
- Engage with public audiences - involving a wide range of people in relevant contemporary
issues in the chemical sciences
- Provide under-represented audiences, communities and places with inspiring chemistry
engagement opportunities, delivered or coordinated by skilled people
They are particularly interested in funding work with under-served and under-represented audiences including people with disabilities and people facing social, economic and educational disadvantages.
Applicants may include society members, member-led groups, researchers in academia or industry, museums, community groups, non-profit organisations, arts groups and libraries. They should seek to engage with members and member groups. All activity must take place within the UK or Republic of Ireland.
There are rolling deadlines throughout 2023:
- Monday 4 September 2023
- Monday 6 November 2023
All projects have until 30 November 2024 to be completed
