The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) offers the "Creative Science Communication and Public Engagement" module, a 15-credit, Level 7 (Master's level) course designed to help participants develop innovative science communication and public engagement projects. The module emphasises grounding these projects in key concepts, theories, and current research, while fostering professional reflective practice.

 

Course Structure:

  • Duration: 10 weeks, including two private study weeks.
  • Delivery Mode: Online, allowing participants to progress at their own pace.
  • Weekly Commitment: Approximately 10 hours.

  • Creative Idea Development: Techniques to generate and refine innovative project concepts.
  • Inclusivity and Accessibility: Strategies to ensure projects are inclusive and accessible to diverse audiences.
  • Project Planning and Management: Guidance on organizing and executing effective science communication initiatives.
  • Presentation and Facilitation Skills: Training to enhance public speaking and engagement capabilities.
  • Project Evaluation: Methods to assess the impact and effectiveness of communication efforts.
