This course provides foundational guidance for researchers on publishing practices, aiming to foster fairness, originality, and impact in research outputs. It supports the University's commitment to enhancing research culture and development.

COURSE DETAILS

This session will explore academic originality, authorship ethics, traditional and non-traditional publication routes, and the role of peer review in academic publication.

  • To highlight key good practice principles associated with publishing research results.
  • To introduce more robust, open, responsible and equitable publishing practices, and think about how these can be applied to researcher’s own research practice.
  • To support fair credit of research contributions across the research cycle.
  • To develop confidence in navigating institutional policies and processes governing publishing research results.
  • To signpost further training and resources on authorship, publishing and peer review available at the University and beyond.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:
