Leadership in Action (in-person)
Tuesday, 24 June 2025 to Thursday, 26 June 2025, 9am - 5pm
An in-person leadership programme for research staff. Leadership in Action is a 3-day participative leadership course that provides the opportunity to explore and develop your own leadership style. You will also be able to meet, work, and network with others.
Course Details
Leadership in Action explores what leadership is and looks at some leadership theory. More importantly though it provides researchers with the opportunity to identify and develop their own leadership style through leading and participating in activities. It is a fast-paced face to face course that takes a ‘learning by doing’ approach – so while there are presentations on theory, most of the time is spent actively taking part in activities and then reflecting on them.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the course you will be able to:
- Consider what leadership is and means.
- Identify a range of leadership styles, consider your preferred approach and how it impacts others
- Focus on how you can enhance research culture through leadership
- Practise leading in different situations
