British Psychological Society Fellowship with UK Parliament, deadline 4 May
This 13 week funded fellowship seeks to support DPhil and Early Career Researchers to develop their understanding of how evidence shapes national policy.
Are you a psychology DPhil student or early career researcher keen to see how evidence shapes national policy? The British Psychological Society (BPS) and UK Parliament’s Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) are offering a 13-week, funded fellowship designed to place psychology expertise at the heart of policymaking.
This is an excellent opportunity to explore how psychological research informs real-world decision-making, whether you’re interested in behaviour change, education, mental health, or other policy-relevant topics.
Fellows will:
-
Spend 13 weeks working full-time (or longer part-time) with POST
-
Produce research briefings and contribute to parliamentary work
-
Be based in Westminster, work remotely, or choose a hybrid model
-
Receive a £7,922.50 stipend, funded by the BPS
-
Begin their placement between January and April 2026
To apply, you’ll need to submit an online form and a short briefing on a psychology-related public policy issue. Applicants must be postgraduate psychology students (or within 12 months of funding ending) and members of the BPS.
An information webinar will be held on Monday 31 March 2025 at 16:00 - ideal if you’d like to hear more about the fellowship experience and ask questions.
Deadline: Sunday 4 May 2025, 23:59 (UK time)
