The Oxford Policy Engagement Network (OPEN) offers up to £5,000 to facilitate collaborations between University of Oxford researchers and public policy professionals worldwide.

The Oxford Policy Engagement Network (OPEN) Seed Fund offers awards of up to £5,000 to facilitate collaborations between University of Oxford researchers and public policy professionals worldwide. These partnerships aim to:

  • Share evidence to support policymaking.
  • Enhance understanding of research's role in policy development and develop skills for policy engagement.
  • Expand professional networks.

Eligibility:

  • Open to academics and researchers from any University department or faculty.
  • Individuals with college-only contracts must apply through a department or faculty.
  • DPhil students may apply if they have submitted their thesis and are awaiting examination at the project's start, or as co-applicants.
  • Each proposal must include at least one policy partner.

Project Timeline:

  • Earliest start date: 5 May 2025.
  • All activities must conclude, and funds be spent by: 31 July 2025.

Application Deadlines:

Proposals up to £1,000 can be submitted any time before 12:00 noon UK time, 31 March 2025.

Proposals over £1,000 must be submitted by 12:00 noon UK time, 31 March 2025.
