what is Wilbe?

Wilbe logo

Wilbe is a platform and community designed to empower scientists to take control of their careers, primarily by helping them transition from research into entrepreneurship. Founded with the mission to promote scientist-led ventures, Wilbe offers resources, mentorship, and access to funding for scientists interested in starting companies or spinning out ideas from academia.

Wilbe supports scientists by providing:

  • Career resources: Guides on building start-ups, creating investment decks, and navigating transitions from academia to entrepreneurship.
  • Advocacy: Opportunities to improve the scientific ecosystem and align institutions with the needs of scientists.
  • Funding: Connections to aligned investors, venture capital, and grants.
  • Lab spaces: Help in securing workspaces for new ventures.

Their goal is to build a community of entrepreneurial scientists and influence broader systemic change to foster more scientist-led innovation in both academia and industry.
