Nominations are now open for the MPLS Impact Awards 2025/26, celebrating researchers whose work is making a real difference beyond academia. Now in their fourteenth year, the awards recognise the wide-ranging impact of research across the Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences Division. They highlight how research at Oxford contributes to meaningful change in the wider world.
The awards are open to researchers at all career stages, including academics, postdoctoral researchers, postgraduate students and technicians. Nominations are encouraged for individuals and teams, particularly early-career researchers and postgraduates contributing to research impact.
Winners receive a £1,000 prize, recognising their achievements and supporting the continued development of impact from their research.
Each year, the awards help to raise awareness of impact across the Division and support the development of future REF case studies, reflecting MPLS’s commitment to ensuring research benefits society and the economy.
How to nominate
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 29 April 2026. Researchers can either nominate colleagues or self-nominate.
If you know someone whose research is creating real-world change, consider putting them forward.
