Nominations are now open for the MPLS Awards for Outstanding Research Supervision 2025/2026, which recognise the supervisors and research group leaders who make a real difference to doctoral students and early-career researchers.

The awards focus on what happens day-to-day in research groups: strong mentorship, creating inclusive environments, and genuine commitment to developing people. While many awards celebrate research outputs, these honour the colleagues who excel in their supervisory and leadership roles.

Supervisors are central to building positive research cultures across the Division. Their work, often behind the scenes, gives students and researchers the support and inspiration they need to succeed. The awards reflect MPLS Division's commitment to environments where researchers can thrive, in line with the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.

Who can be nominated?
Any line manager or supervisor from MPLS disciplines, at any career stage, can be put forward. Each nominee needs two separate nominations: one from a current researcher or student, and another from current or former group members.

How to nominate
The deadline is 5pm on Monday 23 March 2026. Submit nominations via the MS Forms link: https://forms.office.com/e/npjz4TqEFi
