Interact, the symposium that brings together those working in or alongside the physical science to support better, more inclusive and more sustainable engagement work, are hosting a number of 'learning spaces' throughout the year.

This year’s Learning Spaces series offers a fantastic opportunity for researchers, engagement professionals, and others involved in public engagement to dive into practical conversations about doing better, more inclusive, and more sustainable engagement work.

Building on last year’s Interact Symposium, the panels - hosted by Dr Dom Galliano and supported by the Ogden Trust - focus on long-term impact, creative approaches, leadership, and reaching underrepresented audiences.

Each session brings together voices from across the sector and is open to all, regardless of whether you attended the symposium.

Whether you're designing a new engagement project, developing institutional strategy, or seeking creative inspiration, these sessions offer a supportive space for learning and reflection.

Upcoming panel sessions include:

  • Tues 1 April, 10:00–11:30Engagement Medium and Practices

  • Wed 14 May, 14:00–15:30Creative Engagement Medium and Practices

  • Tues 3 June, 14:00–15:30Leadership in Outreach and Public Engagement

  • Wed 24 Sept, 14:00–15:30Working With Underrepresented Audiences in the Physical Sciences

  • Tues 21 Oct, 10:00–11:30Planning for the Long-Term

  • Wed 12 Nov, 14:00–15:30Evaluation and Impact

These sessions are especially valuable for those working in or alongside the physical sciences, but are open to anyone with an interest in inclusive, strategic, and high-quality public engagement.

Who should attend?
Academics (any discipline), engagement professionals, technicians, facility users, community partners, and anyone seeking to connect with others and reflect on their practice.
