University Research and Innovation Committee: MPLS representative
We are looking for an academic colleague from an MPLS department to become one of our MPLS representatives on the University Research and Innovation Committee (RIC).
RIC is chaired by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research), Professor Patrick Grant. It oversees a variety of strategic and operational matters relating to research, including the external research environment, REF, researcher development, research quality, and innovation. You can find out more about the work of RIC here, including terms of reference, current members, and sub-committees and advisory groups.
Existing MPLS members are Professor Harish Bhaskaran (Department of Materials) and Professor Dermot O'Hare (Department of Chemistry). To ensure broad representation on the committee, across the Division, we particularly welcome applications from candidates in the computational (e.g. AI) or biological sciences, and from staff in any discipline from groups that may be currently underrepresented in University governance.
To apply, please submit a brief Expression of Interest (maximum 500 words), with your CV, to Martin Edmunds, MPLS Head of Innovation & Business Partnerships and Research Support, at martin.edmunds@mpls.ox.ac.uk
Application deadline: 12-noon, 30 November 2023
EoIs will be considered by the Associate Heads of MPLS.
The MPLS nomination is subject to approval by University Council.
