Professor Stuart Robinson
Incoming Associate Head (Taught Degrees)
I have been a faculty member in the Department of Earth Sciences since 2013, initially as an APNTF at St Cross and, since 2016, as a Tutorial Fellow at St Anne’s. During this time I have taught extensively at undergraduate and postgraduate level and have served as the Departmental Fieldwork Coordinator, Admissions Coordinator and, since 2022, Associate Head of Department with responsibility for teaching. I have been closely involved with the development of our college blind admissions processes, efforts to diversify our student body, and initiatives to coordinate and update our educational provision through college and departmental teaching.
I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the Division to ensure the strategic priorities are met, including progress on awarding gaps and the development of PGT courses, competency standards and AI policies. I am keen to facilitate discussions as to how new initiatives pertaining to assessments, teaching delivery, AI training, and admissions can be nurtured and developed, all with a view to ensuring we continue to improve opportunities for all and to provide world-class education that equips our graduates with the skills needed for their futures.
Stuart will start in role on 1 September 2026.
