Pride in STEM - Small Grants Scheme, deadline 12 August
Pride in STEM, a UK charity supporting LGBTQIA+ folks in STEM communities - have a small grants scheme open this summer, which is offering up to £1,000 to support projects that engage with their theme in the local community.
This year their theme is “Queer in STEM beyond visibility” – they're looking for projects across the UK that engage with their theme in your local community. They are especially interested in supporting projects that are developed with, by, and for minoritised LGBTQ+ communities in STEM: especially QTPOC, working-class LGBTQ+ folk, and disabled LGBTQ+ folks. They are looking for projects that move beyond Pride in STEM’s existing work through OutThinkers (i.e. not for people to reproduce this event format).
They offer up to £1,000 in 2024 to support your project. They expect the project to take place within 6-9 months of the award, but please be in touch with them if there are reasons you believe you might need longer to deliver the project. As part of the award, Pride in STEM will feature your project and you (with your consent) on their website, and also expect the use of our branding on any materials that you produce. At the end of the grant, they expect a summary report on your project as well as financial documentation. This can be around a 600-word summary, or a commensurate video/audio report.
They expect to fund 3-5 projects in the 2024 round.
The deadline for applications is 12 August.
