COURSE DETAILS
The 3 Minute Thesis competition challenges doctoral candidates to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes to a non-specialist audience.
This course helps you prepare for the competition and ensure that you have the best chance possible to represent Oxford nationally.

Training Dates:
- Wed 28th, Jan 10am - 12pm (in-person)
- Thurs 26th Feb, 10am - 12pm (in-person)
- Thurs 30th April, 10am - 12pm (in-person)
- Deadline to apply to the competition: TBC (estimated May 2026)
- Oxford Final: TBC (estimated June 2026)
- Early July: National semi-finals
- Aug/Sept: National finalists announced by Vitae
- Vitae National Final: October 2025. Online broadcast.

INTENDED FOR
Active DPhil and Professional Doctorate (Research) candidates who have successfully passed their confirmation milestone are eligible. Neither students who have passed their Viva-Voce exams, nor Post-doctoral graduates are eligible.
