Up to £4,000 is available to researchers and professional services staff to strengthen support and culture for Public and Community Engagement with Research (PCER) in MPLS departments.

Do you want to lead the way in making public and community engagement with research (PCER) an integral part of your department’s culture?

The MPLS PCER Fellowships offer funding and support for individuals and teams to develop impactful public engagement initiatives that strengthen support and culture for PCER within the MPLS Division departments.

With up to five fellowships available, each offering a £4,000 budget, this scheme provides an exciting opportunity to shape the future of engagement and contribute to REF goals. Successful applicants will join a network of engagement advocates across the division, coming together to share insights and contribute to shaping the Division’s strategic PCER support.

Fellowship Benefits:

  • Funding: Up to £4,000 to support PCER culture-change activity.
  • Professional Growth: Access to workshops, leadership development, and opportunities to influence departmental culture.
  • Networking: Join a community of engagement advocates and connect with experts in the field.
  • Recognition: Gain visibility as a PCER leader and raise your profile within the research community.

Eligibility:
Open to researchers and professional support staff at all career stages within the MPLS Division. Applicants should propose projects that will benefit the broader department, addressing department-wide engagement challenges.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their proposals with their department’s public engagement representative as part of developing their application.

The deadline for applications is noon (UK time) Friday 4 October. To apply, submit a project plan, budget, and expected outcomes via IRAMS.
